In collaboration with the Sant Ocean Hall, we invite you to join us for an evening discussion with Dr. Isaac Ginis, a Professor of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island and an internationally acclaimed expert in hurricane modeling. If you can't make the lecture in person (details below), you can watch it via a live webcast at http://ocean.si.edu/ocean-videos/eye-storm/, beginning at 6 pm (EDT).

Dr. Ginis’ talk Eye on the Storm: Predicting a Hurricane’s Path of Destruction, will consider how scientists observe, model, and forecast hurricanes around the world.

Eye on the Storm is the second installment of Changing Tides: A Series of Ocean Discussions, in which top marine scientists talk about current research and how it is helping to change the tide in ocean science and conservation. The series is presented through a collaboration between COSEE and the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History and made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
