Mapping Our World with Aquarius/SAC-D

The Aquarius/SAC-D satellite is a collaboration between NASA and the National Commission on Space Activities (CONAE), both of whose missions are to study sea surface salinity from space. With this data, scientists will be able to learn more about how ocean salinities vary worldwide and what a rapidly accelerating water cycle will mean for global climate.
On Friday, November 22, join us online as we hear from three scientists involved with the Aquarius/SAC-D mission: Sandra Torrusio, senior researcher at CONAE SAC-D, Monica Rabolli, research associate at CONAE SAC-D, and Jorge Vazquez, an oceanographer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) of NASA. Through the use of concept mapping, these scientists will walk participants through some of the interesting data being collected by the Aquarius/SAC-D satellite (as well as other Earth observing satellites) and what that data tells us about on-land and oceanic processes.
