Elevating a Hot Topic: Climate Change and Sea Level Rise
Date: 03/19/13

Dr. Phil Thompson and Dr. Thomas Decloedt

Join us as we discuss an important issue that affects us all: climate change and sea level rise. Often we look at this issue from a biological perspective, which is extremely important – but toady we are going to bring in a different view point and chat with three up and coming post docs who are exploring this concern from the physical oceanographic side. We conclude the program with a biologists perspective on how sea level rise is affecting our coral reefs.

Hosted by Carlie Wiener "the marine science gal", and former program manager for COSEE Island Earth, now communications manager for Schmidt Ocean Institute. Carlie interviews students and faculty from University of Hawaii and Federal partners in marine sciences and management to give local listeners a view into the issues and research currently being conducted in the Hawaiian Islands and elsewhere in the Pacific. The program has been running since May 2012 and educates about the most pressing marine science and conservation issues.
