| COSEE Central Coordinating Office | |
The COSEE Central Coordinating Office (CCO) serves as the support center for the ten regional Centers that constitute the COSEE Network, the National COSEE Council, the National Advisory Board, and the CCO. The CCO is housed at the Consortium for Oceanographic Research and Education (CORE) in Washington, DC.
In addition to the individual goals of each COSEE Center, the Network has created common goals for COSEE, including:
- Establishing regional networks
- Connecting scientists and educators
- Providing professional development opportunities
- Reaching traditionally underrepresented populations
- Disseminating materials and resources
- Evaluating regional program efficacy
One role of the CCO is to help COSEE Centers communicate effectively, to create synergies and a broad national impact. The CCO also helps with external communications for COSEE by hosting workshops, conducting national outreach and marketing, and organizing Network evaluation. Partners in the CCO include Clemson University, Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), and University of South Carolina (USC).
