II. Port Study

A. Historical and current information about selected ports.

III. Buoyancy

A. Learn the buoyancy effect of water.

IV. Search the Seas

A. Introduction into the types of ships to be used in the final simulation.

B. Introduction into the effect of weather on sailing.

V. Readers Theater

A. Students will develop a short play.

VI. Checkbook

A. Introduce students to the concept of keeping a budget.


Week Two:

I. Speaker

A. Students will be introduced to the workings of a small business.

II. Advertising

A. Learn to manipulate different forms of advertising.

III. Sea Chants

A. Expose students to poetry.

IV. Field Trip

A. Give students first hand knowledge of ships.

V. Simulation

A. Give students a chance to apply new skills to a real life situation.
