As you look through these pages one theme that will stand out is Alaska itself. This frontier state is so large, the population so small, the numerous sectors so individual yet joined in their interdependence with Alaskan resources and with each other. As a result, Dr. Michael Castellini and his colleagues find themselves doing their research and their outreach in novel ways.
