Scientists will lecture on their research using ocean observing systems (OOS) and related demonstrations and hands-on activities will present different ways to use data producted by OOS sensors and samplers to enhance classroom lessons and build students' understanding of ocean systems and the importance of the ocean in their daily lives. Working in teams, participants will use near real-time data from OOS instruments such as moorings and buoys, while incorporating Principles of Ocean Literacy to develop lesson plans that they can integrate into their classroom instruction and share with other teachers.
