On May 13 at 2:30 PM ET (11:30 AM PT) COSEE-OS, working in collaboration with its partner the Institute for Broadening Participation, and COSEE-Ocean Learning Communities, will host the first in a series of four webinars titled Many Learning Pathways in the Ocean Sciences.

Prof. Christina De La Rocha, an oceanographer at the European Institute for Marine Research (IUEM) in Brest, France, will describe her fascinating research on the silica cycle in the oceans. Christina will also share experiences being an under-represented minority (URM) scientist with emphasis on the support structures that were helpful in pursuit of her career.

Profs. Phil Bell and Carrie Tzou (COSEE-Ocean Learning Communities) will follow with supporting literature that emphasizes that learners need multiple sources of support from a variety of sources to enhance their personal and intellectual development.
