Catherine has led the implementation of the Communicating Ocean Sciences Course throughout the National COSEE Network, including in: COSEE Coastal Trends, COSEE NOW, COSEE OLC, COSEE Pacific Partnerships, COSEE West, COSEE Mid-Atlantic, COSEE New England and COSEE Florida.
Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:
Catherine is Director of Communicating Ocean Sciences to Informal Audiences, and is the developer and lead instructor of the original Communicating Ocean Sciences course at UC Berkeley. She is Co-Director of the Marine Activities, Resources & Education (MARE) program, and the lead developer of the new integrated science and reading modules, Shoreline Science and Aquatic Ecosystems from Seeds of Science, Roots of Reading.
