Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:
Ms. Cetrulo has been actively involved with ocean science education for over two decades. She has worked for the Sea Education Association in a variety of capacities, from staff scientist to program coordinator for both their West and East Coast tallship programs, which emphasize science at sea. In addition, she is a fully credentialed teacher who has taught all grade levels and served as a science coordinator for the Manhattan Beach school district in California. She is currently adjunct faculty at Indian River State College, teaching the final courses for students enrolled in IRSC's middle school science teaching credential program. Her role in COSEE is to modify and augment the existing credential program to focus on ocean science as a vehicle for teaching science in middle school classrooms and to export this credential program to colleges and universities throughout Florida.
