In addition to teaching university level courses, I have also been involved in marine science education at the K-12 level for over a decade. I have participated in numerous COSEE teacher training workshops, both as a science advisor and the guest lecturer. Together with the director of WhaleTimes, Inc., an organization dedicated to marine science education for K-12 educators and students, I have taught a number of workshops for high school science teachers, providing them with resources and curricula to bring marine science into their classrooms and make it relevant for their students even though they may live in states without a coastline.
