Meghan is currently the COSEE Florida program coordinator and facilitates the work of this collaborative partnership. Her role is to support COSEE Florida in sparking and nurturing collaborations that promote understanding, appreciation and stewardship of the ocean.
Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:
Meghan Buckley earned her Masters of Science in marine biology from Florida Institute of Technology. Her research focused on the timing of larval release and larval behavior of green porcelain crabs. While at Florida Tech, she participated in the Integrated Science Teaching Enhancement Partnership (InSTEP) program as a Graduate Teaching Fellow. She partnered with local elementary and high school teachers to share her research with students and practice effective communication of scientific concepts. Through this opportunity, she was also able to participate in many community outreach opportunities on a mobile laboratory and organize local Ocean Sciences Bowl competitions.
