1. Make sure the students understand the Odyssey.

2. Get students started on written portion of assignment.

Procedure for Day Two

1. Review details of Odysseus and the Odyssey

2. Communicate assignment in detail.

Write one of the "Further Adventures of Odysseus"

• No length requirement as long as all questions are answered:
• Where did Odysseus go?
• Why does he go there?
• What did he do there?
• How did he get away?
• Story must be proof-read (by student, help from classmates allowed):
• correct spelling
• correct grammar
• neatly printed ("publish-able")
• Must be accompanied by illustration:
• Must fit details of story.
• Must be in color.
• Finished assignments will be bound

4. Get students started on written portion of assignment

• Encourage students to go through the books of mythology in the classroom
• Encourage them to share ideas
• Rough draft due the next day
