Week 1

Day 1

            Field trip - (Approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes) - Introduction to S.O.S. Mini Museum project done over
            the two week period

            (20 minutes) - Write in journals.Ý See Reading and Journals lesson plan


Day 2
            Lesson - (Approximately 1 hour) - Introduction to The Voyage of the Frog.Ý Done before students read
            Chapters 1 and 2Ý

            (45 minutes) - Read Chapters 1 and 2 of The Voyage of the Frog and write in journals.Ý

            Lesson - (Approximately 2.5 hours) - Stranded!Ý An introduction to survival skills

            (2 hours) - S.O.S. Mini Museum - Research and Design


Day 3

            Lesson - (Approximately 5 hours) - Orienteering /Mapping.Ý Done before students read Chapters 3 and 4

            (45 minutes) - Read Chapters 3 and 4 and write in journals.Ý See Reading and Journal lesson plan

            (2 hours) - S.O.S. Mini Museum - Team Roles and Blueprints 


Day 4

            (45 minutes) - Read Chapters 5 and 6 and write in journals.Ý See Reading and Journal lesson plan

            Lesson - (Approximately 1.5 hours) - Weather - Water Purification (Part 1)

            Lesson - (Approximately 1.5 hours) - Morse Code

            (2 hours) - S.O.S. Mini Museum - Construction 


Day 5

            Lesson - (Approximately 2 hours) - Weather - Winds (Part 2) and Air Pressure and Barometer (Part 3)Ý

            (45 minutes) - Read Chapters 7 and 8 and write in journals.Ý See Reading and Journal lesson plan

            (2 hours) - S.O.S. Museum - Construction 


Week 2

Day 6

            Lesson - (Approximately 2 hours) - Media!Ý An introduction to the media activity.Ý Done over the last week of the

Day 7

Day 8

            Start Storms of the Sea (Part 5)

Day 9
