Program Description
COSEE Alaska created and moderated the Network for Alaska Ocean Scientists and Educators, SEANET. Core membership in this social networking site and listserve was developed from attendees at a series of Communicating Ocean Sciences Workshops which COSEE Alaska co-sponsored at the kick-off event for the Alaska Marine Science Symposium held annually in Anchorage in January, 2009-2014. By 2013, membership in the social networking site had grown to more than 230 members; membership on the list serve now exceeds 500.

COSEE Center
COSEE Alaska seeks to enhance ocean and climate change literacy in formal and informal audiences and the public. The Center engages ocean scientists, teachers, informal educators and community members in the region in a broad range of programs, including statewide ocean science fairs, teacher workshops, expanded Communicating Ocean Science Workshops and hands-on sessions for scientists at the Alaska Marine Science Symposium, plus distance learning and virtual field trips through our website.
