Oil Spill Panel at Ocean Hall - 04.20.2011
On Tuesday, April 19, 2011, COSEE collaborated with the Smithsonian Institution to present a panel focused on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill as part of the Changing Tides Lecture series.
The event, titled “One Year After the Gulf Oil Spill” featured four panelists:
- Dr. David Hollander, University of South Florida: Fate of the oil and its impact
- Dr. Judilee Marrow, National Zoo: Rescuing Gulf Coast wildlife
- Dr. John Stein, NOAA: Gulf seafood and fisheries
- Dr. James Bonner, Clarkson University: Oil spill clean-up
The event was well attended, over 150 people were in the auditorium with many more tuning into the Webcast. The Webcast will be archived and available on the Smithsonian Institution’s Ocean Portal
