Loko I’a 2.0 iPhone App Released - 07.19.2017

The Loko I'a app is an innovative way to engage a broader community in learning about scientific research, environmental stewardship, Hawaiian culture, and community restoration occurring at He'eia Fishpond. The app accomplishes this by creating a user experience that includes interactive tours, photo galleries, and audio about He'eia Fishpond.

The new version includes access to real-time data sensors in a native Hawaiian fishpond, additional sections on pond life (Mea Ola) and Hawaiian knowledge (‘Ike Hawaii), as well as all new graphics and images. The goal of the app is to promote technology-enabled, place-based learning and to highlight the integration of science, traditional knowledge, and cultural practice to help restore Hawaiian fishponds.
