The NHC maintains a continuous watch on tropical cyclones over the Atlantic, Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Eastern Pacific from May 15 through November 30. The website contains a variety of information from satellite and GIS data, to historical storm facts and hurricane season summaries, to hurricane preparedness guidelines and much detail on other hurricane-related topics.
  • NWS Storm Prediction Center
This site offers data to predict storms.
  • NWS JetStream - Online School for Weather
Site is designed to be useful to anyone interested in learning about weather and weather safety. Subjects: global and large scale weather patterns, air masses, wind patterns, cloud formations, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, damaging winds, tornados, tropical storms, cyclones and flooding.
  • NHC Archive of Hurricane Seasons
A lot of data available here (including archived track and GIS data at the bottom of the page).
  • NHC GIS Data and Products
  • NHC Hurricane Preparedness Week
Containing information similar to the above PDF documents, the NHC sponsored Hurricane Preparedness Week just before the beginning of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Exhibits include Hurricane History, Hurricane Hazards, Forecast, Preparation, and Action. Look for similar events in May of coming years.
  • NHC Aircraft Reconnaissance
Data from NOAA Aircraft Reconnaissance missions and overview materials available here.
