Resources Earth, Air, Water and Fire: Multi-Media Concept Mapping to Promote Ocean Literacy in Rural and Inland Audiences Category: COSEE Conference Resources, NMEA 2010, For Educators, Ocean and Climate Literacy Resource Type: Powerpoint Presentation Date Posted: 08/02/2010 Discover a powerful visual tool to help your students and audiences– no matter where they live - improve their understanding of ocean and climate interactions. COSEE-OS has developed a suite of interactive multimedia tools that illustrate clear connections among and within the ocean, earth, and solar systems. Our engaging website, the Ocean Climate Interactive, offers educators free and easy access to a wide variety of scientist-selected resources using a hyperlinked concept mapping tool. We will give a demonstration of the highlights from our website, and then transition to create a group-designed concept map exploring how all people are connected by “earth, air, water and fire”. Participants are invited to continue post-conference through a social networking forum to create customized concept map “explorations” for their audiences.
