COSEE-OS will present a 2-hour workshop at the upcoming biennial conference of the Center for Science and Mathematics Education Research at the University of Maine (UMaine) in Orono. Medea Steinman, Marine Education Associate, will lead a session in which educators and education researchers hear about the COSEE-OS collaborative workshop model for educators and scientists. Participants will then have a chance to try their own hand at developing a concept map about an important ocean science concept.

In presenting the workshop, Medea will be joined by Carrie Armbrecht and Artur Palacz, graduate students in the UMaine School of Marine Sciences, who will lend their ocean science expertise and who also have first-hand experience with the COSEE-OS workshop process. COSEE-OS will also present a poster at the conference poster session on the same day from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
