ROLE Models: Penny Vlahos and Sue Klemmer

On September 22nd, COSEE-OS will host a Research-Based Online Learning Event (ROLE) webinar featuring research scientists and educators who are using concept mapping to develop and communicate their ideas. University of Connecticut Scientist Penny Vlahos will be sharing a concept map relating to her research conducted during the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and its part in the global carbon cycle. Sue Klemmer, science teacher at Camden Hills Regional High School, Camden, Maine, will describe how she's used concept mapping for thinking and planning around teaching, and in helping her students process reading assignments. An optional brief demo of COSEE-OS software will also be presented.
