Attendance: Pre-register by May 17 for guaranteed seating.

Join us as we partner with FMSEA and SciCafe St. Petersburg for a science-filled happy hour at The Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge!

Speakers: Erinn Muller, Ph.D., postdoctoral researcher, Mote Marine Laboratory, Sarasota and Diane Shelly, executive director, Florida Craftsmen, St. Petersburg

Coral reefs are often called "the rainforests of the sea" because of the diversity found in their created habitats. They are severely threatened and scientists estimate that 19% of the world's coral reefs have been lost and another 35% will be lost over the next 20-40 years.

Join us as we converse and merge science + art, see the connections of diversity and see examples from one of the world's largest participatory science and art projects, the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef, that will be on exhibit at Florida Craftsmen this summer.
