Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:

I have a master's degree in environmental management focusing on Caribbean coral reef conservation biology. I started my role as an ocean science educator at the John G. Shedd Aquarium in 1993, and continued working in informal ocean science education through the Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service, a cooperative program between the University of the Virgin Islands and the University of Puerto Rico Sea Grant College Program. I am one of the co-founders of the Virgin Islands Network of Environmental Educators (VINE), and the Virgin Islands Coral Conservation Consortium.

Selected Publications:

I have written an online marine science Q&A column (Sea Scoop!) and currently write a marine science column for a U.S. Virgin Islands tourism magazine (Destinations).
