Dr. Brook has over thirty-five years' experience in technology-related, educational endeavors at the university level. He served for many years as the Associate Department Head and taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in information technologies and electronics in the Technology and Education Department. Dr. Brook was instrumental in designing and implementing the Mississippi FiberNet 2000 project, the nation's first fiber optic, fully interactive video, two-way distance learning network operated over public-telephone-switched facilities. He has served as Principal Investigator for a number of grants including the Tri-State Network Project, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History's Natural Partners Ineractive Classroom Project, COAST:STARBORD, COAST:PILOT, and numerous others. In addition to his duties with CETT, Dr. Brook recently retired as Head of Computer Applications and Services for the 82-county system of the Mississippi State University Extension Service. Dr. Brook's specialty areas include advanced telecommunications network design and implementation, instructional technology, technical training, electronics, and automation.
